Alone with me and my pony, I have time to think of you and your lovely, feeling voice and it brings tears into my eyes. My love for you will never die. I miss you so, each day a little more! John's music came into my life during a precarious time as a young 22 yr old man. It changed me in many ways (for the better), and has served as a source of inspiration through the years. I used to sing his music at a number of venues and as the lyric says, "it introduced me to some friends of mine and brightened up some days." Many of these friends are still close 25 years later. So, I am truly thankful of all that he gave me without ever knowing, just as I know other fans can relate. I miss him .... I still play his music often and hope his spirit is soaring ...

My brother used his songs in his wedding, my cousin honored her wedding with his music and I was only allowed one song by my Pastor and selected John's "For You". I know we were not alone. A underappreciated man in his time, I grew up with his music and no matter what the naysayers came up with We always saw his smile. Like all of us he had his faults but thats not what the fans remember. He, to us was a great and caring man who wanted peace and joy for everyone. What is wrong with that? So to those who only see his physical looks or sap in some lyrics, I challenge you o be half the human being he was to his fans. The greatest human beings are not always the gorgeous ones. Ghandi, Roosevelt, Cousteau and Deuchendorf to name a few. If the ugliest person in the world cured cancer, would you not use their treatment? If a man with half a head saved your child in a fire would you hate him? If a woman with a hunchback made food for the hungry would you cast her out? I was a big fan of John Denver. It was him that inspired me to start writing my own songs in the hopes of some day becoming someone famous like him. I try to share what he did, my feelings for Mother Nature, God, and things related to various issues that I face such as being in the Deaf Community, I try to share what it is like being deaf.
John was truly an inspiration to me. I have continued to write songs related to the Earth, to God, and the deaf community since 1981. I have enjoyed the opportunity to share with people my feelings.
Some of my favorites were songs like "Take Me Home, Country Roads", " Seasons of the Heart", "Some Days Are Diamonds", "Higher Ground", "Thank God Im A Country Boy", his duet "Perhaps Love", Calypso, and many, many others.
I hope many others will be inspired by your music John, and continue to reach people.
I hope that through my music, I will be able to reach as many people as I can.

It was John Denver who inspired me to start my own songwriting. I have always dreamed of becoming someone famous like him. As a result of your music, I have written some of my own songs related to nature. I have also written songs related to the Lord. and other things I see. I try to share with the world the different cultures that are here on earth. Such cultures like the Deaf Culture. A lot of my music I try to help people understand about the earth we live on, the deaf community, and share about God and his Son.
John, You wrote many wonderful songs. I truly enjoyed songs like "For You" , "Seasons of the Heart", "Thank God Im a Country Boy" , "Take Me Home, Country Roads, and many others were my favorites. Your album "Higher Ground" was one of my favorites especially with all the new stuff you wrote. I have been a fan since I was real young when my Dad had your greatest hits. Thats all he had, but after that, I purchased every cassette or CD I could get my hands on of John Denver. You will sincerely be missed in my heart and you have a place always in my heart. I grew up in the 70's. I gave a "concet" or two in my backyard; the setlist consisted of mostly John Denver and James Taylor songs I had learned with my buddy who played bass. I sang. Later in life I got a record deal with a small label call ACME Entetainment. The record charted on the CMJ, but didn't didn't move much further. It's o.k., but wondered if someone, listening for it, wouldn't hear the faint strains of John Denver. My folks took me to see him in 1977, and we got there early. He waved to me during his soundcheck where he played part of "Rhymes and Reasons," and this boy was never the same since. You might never pick it up; our band was Superkreme,and you could probably download a sample of us from CD now or whatever, but honest, cut through the fog and he's in there. Thanks, John. I was just listening to Annie's Song, and I burst into tears,feeling my deepest emotions. This was the most perfect, the most melodic song ever written, and John sings it with such purity. When I was 11 years old in the early 70's, I heard the songs of John Denver and really loved them. This man has really touched my heart just as John Denver did in the summer of 1974. Then, one day I woke up around midnight at my Grandmother's house in Dallas, Texas in the summer of 1974 and heard him singing "Annie's Song" on TV so I got up and I watched it. I fell madly in love with him and with that song even more. I went to a wedding that next day and thought about him all day and I dreamed of my wedding to him or someone like him. From that day on and through all my trials and tribulations in my life, his music has been an inspiration to me in every day life and spiritually. I felt every emotion as the song played and I listened to the words. I was in a marriage and several relationships that were nothing but a mistake and have become bitter and became convinced that I would never experienced the love I did for that few moments in Dallas, Texas when I was 11 years old. However, I have met a man that does make me feel this way and the relationship is young and is just now beginning. This man has touched me the way John Denver has and has made me feel like I was worth something unlike most men that I have been involved with. This all started out so innocent. It went from "I like you" to "I care for you" and now it is "I Love You". I am praying everyday about this new relationship with this wonderful loving man. If and when this relationship grows, endures and turns into marriage, I am set on having "Annie's Song" played at my wedding because seeing him sing that song made me experience the feeling of real, true love even though I was a child and had no one to give love to or have it given back. That day that song gave me a gift. It gave me love and as much as I was passionately dying to give it back, I wasn't able to give back love to someone singing on TV but I did it in my heart and continued to for years. Now I am hoping for a chance to give this love to this wonderful man in my life and adding more inspiration to it by playing this song at the wedding and continue to listen to and be further inspired by this song all the rest of the days of my life.
